Source view
The Source tab of the Objects page shows the current object's AL source as plain, read-only text. Use it to read the code exactly as it is written, or to select and copy any part of it.
Opening it
- Select the Source tab above the object, one of the View selector buttons, or press Ctrl+3.
- Select View › Source in the Workspace window.
- Select Go to Source on the context menu of a declaration or a line on the Extended or Object tab. See Object view.
- Select View › Go to Position… (Ctrl+G) and enter a position.

Go to a declaration or position
Go to Source switches to the Source tab at the declaration or line you chose. It is a step in the navigation history, so Alt+Left takes you back to where you were.
Go to Position… takes a character position, counted from 0 at the start of the
object's source. It switches to the Source tab, marks the character at that position in red and scrolls it to
the middle of the view. A position past the end shows Position out of range with the range you
can enter, and the window stays open so you can correct it.
Select and copy text
Select text with the mouse or with Shift and the arrow keys; Ctrl+A selects the whole object. Press Ctrl+C to copy the selection, or right-click it and select Copy.
