Features page

The Features page of the Control Panel lists Prism for AL's main features, each with a short animation and a description. It shows which features you have explored and which are new or updated in this release, so you can see what to try next.

Opening it

Select Features in the Control Panel's navigation rail.
On the page, press F1 to open this manual page.

#	Name	Description
1	Send feedback	Opens the Feedback window to send feedback, a bug report or a support question.
2	New	Shows only the features introduced in this release, with their number. See Filter and search.
3	Updated	Shows only the features updated in this release, with their number.
4	Not explored	Shows only the features you have neither used nor dismissed, with their number.
5	Search features	Narrows the list to the features that match the text you type.
6	More options	Marks every feature as explored, or restores the dismissed ones. See More options menu.
7	Feature list	The features, grouped by area. Select one to read about it on the right. See Feature list.
8	Details panel	Your progress while no feature is selected; the selected feature's details otherwise. See Your progress and Feature details.

Feature list

The list groups the features by area: Start, AI, Navigation, Codelines, Usages, Code Graph, Search, Reports, Code, Source Generation, Namespaces, Visualization and General. A feature that belongs to more than one area is listed in each. Each entry shows:

Version: the version that introduced the feature, or that last updated it, on a strip down the left. The strip is highlighted for a feature that is new or updated in this release.
Name and a one-line description. Point at the name to read the whole description.
New or Updated icon: shown for a feature introduced or updated in this release.
Explored check mark: colored for a feature you have used (“Congratulations, you have used this feature!”), gray for one you dismissed.

Filter and search

The toggles and the search box above the list narrow it down. The list changes as you toggle or type.

Control	Shows	Notes
New	The features introduced in this release.	Disabled when this release introduces none. With Updated also on, the list shows both, which is everything that changed.
Updated	The features updated in this release.	Disabled when this release updates none.
Not explored	The features you have neither used nor dismissed.	Disabled when you have explored every feature, unless it is on.
Search features	The features whose name, description or keywords contain the text, ignoring case, or whose version starts with it.	Type a version such as `5.0` to list the features introduced or updated in it.

Not explored and the search apply on top of New and Updated. All toggles are off when Prism starts. When nothing matches, the list says “No features match the current filters.”

Select More options (⋯) beside the search box. Both items change every feature, not only the ones the list shows.

Mark all as explored

The question before every feature is marked as explored.

1	Question	“Mark all <n> unexplored features as explored?”, followed by “Use this when you already know Prism, for example on a new computer. Restore dismissed features undoes it.”
2	Yes	Dismisses every feature you have not used. Prism says All features marked as explored.
3	No	Closes the dialog without changes.

Feature details

The details panel shows the selected feature.

#	Name	Description
1	Thumbs down	Opens the Feedback window to say what does not work for you, with the feature's name filled in.
2	Thumbs up	Opens the Feedback window to say what works well for you, with the feature's name filled in.
3	Mark feature as used	Dismisses the feature: Prism counts it as explored, for example when you know it from another installation or version. Shown for a feature you have not explored.
4	Show dashboard	Clears the selection and shows your progress again.
5	Animation	A short recording of the feature in use.
6	Description	What the feature does and how to use it, often with links to this manual.
7	Metrics	Introduced in and Updated in, with an icon when that is this release; Usages, with a check mark once explored; First use and Last use. A row without a value is hidden.

For a dismissed feature, Mark feature as unused takes the place of Mark feature as used and returns the feature to not explored.

Your progress

While no feature is selected, the details panel shows how much of Prism for AL you have explored. Until you select a feature it also says “Select a feature to read about it here”. The Features panel on the Home page shows the same figures.

#	Name	Description
1	Percentage completed	The share of features you have explored.
2	Counts	explored, more to go, dismissed, new in this release and updated in this release. Every count but explored is hidden while it is zero.
3	Suggest a feature…	Opens the Feedback window.
4	Release notes…	Opens the release notes in your default browser.

Explored features

Used: Prism counts a feature as used the first time you use it, and says Feature explored: “Congratulations, you tried the '…' feature!”
Dismissed: a feature you marked as used without using it, one by one or with Mark all as explored…. It counts as explored, and its check mark is gray.
Not explored: neither used nor dismissed.

Prism remembers your usage and dismissals between sessions.
