Workspace window

The workspace window shows one open object store. You browse, search and analyse the objects here. It has the menus and a search button in its title bar, a rail of pages on the left, and a status bar at the bottom.

Opening it

  • Open an object store; see Opening an object store. Each store gets its own window.
  • Open a store that is already open, and Prism brings its window to the front.

The window opens maximized unless you turn off Open workspace window maximized on the Settings page.

Make room for the object view

Use this on a small screen, or to read long code without scrolling sideways.

  1. Choose View › Show.
  2. Clear Objects to hide the object index, and Outline to hide the outline.
  3. Optionally clear Toolbar and Status Bar as well.

The object view takes the room. The View menu turns accent coloured as a reminder; select the same items again to bring the parts back. To hide a panel for a moment, double-click the splitter beside it; see Resize and hide panels.

  • To step back or forward one place, press Alt+Left or Alt+Right, or select Back or Forward on the Objects page toolbar.
  • To jump to an earlier place, open the History menu and select it.
  • To return to where you are in the history after scrolling away, press Ctrl+Space.
