Notices from Statical, such as news about a release, arrive with the version check and appear in the same box, each once per session. Questions and confirmations appear as dialogs over the window.

Preview builds

A preview build is a pre-release of the next version of Prism for C/AL. It shows an amber PREVIEW badge in the title bar, its window title ends in — Preview, and its version number ends in Preview. Features in a preview may change before the next stable release. Read about the current preview on the Prism for C/AL preview page.

When you run a stable version and a preview exists, the Home page's Version block offers it.

Dark and light theme

Prism for C/AL follows the Windows app theme, dark or light; it has no theme setting of its own. To change the theme, change the app mode in the Windows settings.

When Windows switches theme while Prism runs, Prism asks Restart Prism now?, because it shows the new theme fully only after a restart.

  • Restart restarts Prism. Open object stores close; reopen them from the recent list.
  • Not now keeps you working. Prism switches at once, but some colors stay in the old theme until it next starts.
