The Settings page holds the settings that apply to all of Prism for C/AL: how mirrors
synchronize, which files a folder store reads, how code looks and how windows behave. This page lists every
setting, its options, its default and when a change takes effect.
Opening it
Select Settings at the bottom of the rail of the Control Panel.
Select File › Settings… in the main window, or press Ctrl+P.
Select Settings at the bottom of the rail of a Workspace window.
Select a group to expand or collapse it; all groups start collapsed. Each setting shows its name, a
description below it, and its control on the right. Hover a setting for more help.
The page has no Save button. Prism saves a change and applies it half a second after you make it.
Mirrors
How Prism synchronizes mirrors. Section
Object Storage.
How synchronization decides that an object in the database differs from the mirrored copy.
NameVersionListTimeBlobSize, the recommended option, compares the object's name,
version list, date, time and size. RowVersion compares the timestamp column of the
Object table. Takes effect after you restart Prism.
Synchronization interval
A whole number of minutes, 1 or more
15
Minutes between two synchronizations of the mirrors that have
Automatic synchronization on. Takes effect after you restart Prism.
Database connection timeout
A whole number of seconds, 1 or more
8
Seconds Prism waits for a connection to a mirror's database before it gives up. Applies to the next connection.
Post-update hook
The path of a .ps1, .bat, .cmd or .sh script; Browse... picks one
Empty: no script runs
A script Prism runs each time a mirror update writes object files. Copy sample script
copies a commented PowerShell template to the clipboard. Applies to the next update. See
Run a script after an update.
Input (under Post-update hook)
None, PlainText, Json
None
What Prism writes to the script's standard input: nothing, the changed file paths with a prefix, or
a JSON object. Applies to the next update.
Unstructured Directory Store
Which files and folders Prism reads when it opens an unstructured folder of object files, with
Open folder… on the Home page or
File › Open › Object Text Directory (Unstructured *.txt)…. Use them when the folder is a
version control working folder that also holds files without objects. Section Object Storage.
Prism skips the folders whose names match, with everything in them.
A filter is one or more names separated by |. A name can hold the wildcards * (any
characters) and ? (one character). The filters apply the next time you open a folder. For
example, to read only .txt and .cal files from a Git working folder, set
File name inclusion filter to *.txt|*.cal and
Directory name exclusion filter to .git. The command-line tool takes the same
filters as options; see Command line.
Object Store
How Prism reads C/AL object files. Section Object Storage.
A blank entry, or a code page from the list, shown as its name and display name
Blank: the system's OEM code page
The text encoding Prism reads object files with, in every file store, folder store and mirror. A
mirror's own Object encoding
overrides it. Applies the next time you open an object store.
Code
How code looks and behaves in the Object view. Section Appearance & behavior.
Selects your code lines again when you return to an object.

Remember code line selections
On, Off
On
When you navigate away from an object and back to it, the code lines you had selected are selected again.
Show used global variables
On, Off
Off
Lists, under each procedure and trigger, the global variables it uses directly. The object on
screen is drawn again at once.
Windows in general
How windows behave and what they show. Section Appearance & behavior.

Hardware-accelerated graphics
On, Off
On
Turn it off when Prism shows display problems; Prism may then run slower. Turning it off applies at
once. Turning it back on takes a restart; Prism says Restart required: "Prism must
be restarted before hardware-accelerated graphics can be re-enabled."
Enable UI virtualization in usages windows
On, Off
On
Lets usages windows draw only the rows in view, which keeps long result lists fast. While it is on,
a usages window may forget which nodes you collapsed or expanded. Applies to the next usages window.
Settings kept in other windows
Prism also remembers choices you make in other windows. They are not on the Settings page; change them where
you make them. Each applies at once and stays for every object store until you change it.

The Include options a new usages window starts with. Set the options, then select the save button
beside the option group; its tooltip reads Save current Include Options as my new default.
